Desert Botanical Gardens and Valentine's Day

We spent Valentine's Day at the Desert Botanical Gardens. The weather was perfect and is was a lot of fun to just have some relaxing family time. We also had out-of-town guests who were able to escape the snow enjoy the desert at its finest.

We had extreme close ups with humming birds, a roadrunner, ground squirrels, and quail.

We are members of the botanical gardens now and I think the 8 years old would live there if he could. The draw back for him if being allergic to mesquite trees. If you every come to Phoenix the DBG is definitely a place to visit.

Ian's 2yr old physical

Ian had his physical on Tuesday and everything went well for the most part. Let's start with the good: Dr. Galles was very impressed with his speech and vocabulary. He said that he is way advanced for only having one ear that works. Ian is 36.5 inches tall which puts him in the 90% of his age. He weighs 35.6 lbs which is the 98% for his age. So basically is a BIG 2 year old, which we already knew. And just to think that he was born 5 weeks early weighing 6lbs 12 oz and now is so big is crazy. The donor that we pick was 6ft 4in tall and weighed 225lbs. I am short so we know where he is getting his height, definatley from Kathy! :)

Now for the scary part. Dr.Galles detected a heart mumor while doing the exam. He said that it is something that can happen at this age and that it is possible that he will just grow out of it around 7-8yrs old. But just to be safe we are having and Echocardiogram done just to make sure that there isn't something more serious going on. It is hard not to worry and get stressed when something like this happens, but we are just going to take this one step at a time, and just send your positive thoughts and prayers our way.

Ian has be silly and cute as ever! Today we went to the copy store that we have been using for years. The lady's there, Donna and Nancy were very excited to see Ian. When it was time to leave he didn't want to go. But he finally gave in and gave both of them a hug and a KISS! That was a first, but he does like giving hugs and a kiss to family. Now when he gets older we may have to monitor this very closely.

I hope everyone has a great day and weekend, and when you are watching the Suerbowl on SUnday remember to cheer for the Cardinals!!

GO CARDINALS!!

Christmas night update

Well, we had a fantastic day today. Ian woke up about 7am and we went into the living room to check out what Santa had left. Ian opened his stocking and also open a Mr. Potatoe Head set. Ian thought it was pretty cool and enjoying opening those two things. Him, Kathy and I ate breakfast and started getting ready for the day. Kathy I exchanged our gifts before everyone got there, and I had a blast watching Kathy open her stuff. I have included pitures so you can see what I got. Many of you already know that Kathy got a webcam for christmas and she has already sent out a message to everyone.

Around 11-11:30 the rest of the family came over to wait for Maddie to get home around noon to start opening everyone's gifts. The kids got a lot of toys, Ian got a T-Ball set and a Black and Decker tool bench. Maddie got Barbie dolls and a jewelery box, and much more for both of them. We all had a great time opening gifts and then it was time for lunch/dinner. We had grilled chicken and mashed potatoes and green beans. And of course there were rolls. :)

Both of the kids had a sleep over at Grandma's house (my mom). We had a perfect dy and couldn't have asked for it to be any better.
Love, The Young's
P.S.
By the Way everyone we have a new addition to our family and his name is Jerome and he is a cat. We got him from the Human Society about 2 weeks ago and he is the perfect cat! Him and Jesse get along and have started to play with each other.

P.S.S

Tomorrow is a very special day. It is Ian and Gram's Birthday that they share. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
