On Tuesday night Ian decided that he wanted to go swimming. He finally got in the pool and was playing with a toy, the doughnut ring thing. All of the sudden he tipped back and hit his head on the pool deck, He screamed and quickly got out.
When I looked at the back of his head blood was pouring down his neck. I wrapped him up in a towel and we made our way to the car and I drove fast, safely but fast, to the ER. (I didn't even lock the puppy up in her kennel?!) I gotta say he was great in the car. He mostly said that he was scared because he didn't know what was going to happen but he was OK. By the time we got to the ER he was cold because well he was soaking wet.
Everyone took great care of him and he was a rock star getting the area cleaned, numbed, and then two staples put in. One of the nurses even told him that he was doing better than most adults do when they come in with the same injury. I think what help keep us calm was the fact that Auntie (my Sister) had a similar injury when she was a kid. We goofed about how they would have the same type of scar and it would look like an eye in the back of his head, just like Auntie. He kinda liked that.
In the picture you can see all of the blood on his swim shirt, he'll get a new one, his bandaged head when they were numbing it, the staple gun, and the finished work. He was excited to tell everyone at school what happened. However he did say he was going to take a break from swimming for a little bit. It was definitely a more exciting Cinco De Mayo than we had planned but we were so proud of how he handled the situation.

Desert Botanical Gardens and Valentine's Day
We spent Valentine's Day at the Desert Botanical Gardens. The weather was perfect and is was a lot of fun to just have some relaxing family time. We also had out-of-town guests who were able to escape the snow enjoy the desert at its finest.
We had extreme close ups with humming birds, a roadrunner, ground squirrels, and quail.
We are members of the botanical gardens now and I think the 8 years old would live there if he could. The draw back for him if being allergic to mesquite trees. If you every come to Phoenix the DBG is definitely a place to visit.

HRC Nail Wraps
These are the first wraps I made in the Jamberry Nail Art Studio. I made these for the upcoming 2015 Arizona #HRC Gala. If you are going to the dinner and want cool nails, book a party with me, online or in-person, and I will give you half of these wraps. That is enough for 1 mani and 1 pedi. (If there is more than one booking there will be a raffle)
I am pretty sure this is the first time I will be matching my outfit with my nails. Let the hunt begin! When I showed Ian these wraps he was very excited that they were HRC colors and asked if I had any left over if her could wear some. I said of course!
